Dodgers Sign Second-Round Pick Landon Knack

The Dodgers added to their draft pick success by signing Bobby Miller out of Louisville, as well as Carson Taylor out of Virginia Tech. They added to that today by making the Landon Knack signing official.

Knack was selected in the second round by the Dodgers, and could potentially be added to the 60-man player pool. It’s not a stretch to say that most of the draft picks from this year could be added to the pool.

The Dodgers signed Knack for just $715,000 when the number 60 slot was estimated at just over $1.15 million. That extra money could go towards signing Clayton Beeter from Texas Tech and Jake Vogel out of Huntington Beach.

The East Tenessee State product led NCAA Division I schools in strikeouts and innings pitched, as well as strikeouts to walks ration at 51/1. The Dodgers were impressed with his fastball which is sitting in the mid-90s with the potential to touch 98. It’s not exactly likely that he will get big league time if added to the pool, but it’s also not entirely out of the question.
